BNB started out as one exchange's discount card and became the internal currency of an entire ecosystem — a network of smart contracts, decentralized applications, and a data storage system. Few tokens in the crypto industry have gone from a narrow utility function to full-fledged infrastructure this fast.

The first is a quarterly automatic burn, where the volume of tokens destroyed is calculated by a formula that factors in BNB's current price and the number of blocks the network produced during the quarter. Transparency is the key detail here — the procedure is public and verifiable rather than dependent on a closed decision by the company. The second level is a real-time burn, where a portion of the fee on every transaction on the network is burned automatically, with no need to wait for the end of the quarter.

The result of this design is a deflationary model. If demand for BNB holds steady or grows while supply keeps shrinking on a transparent schedule, that structurally pushes the price upward. The token's usefulness depends on the role it's used in.
